I loved this post! It reminded me of when my son was 2. We are getting close to his 5th birthday and kindergarten - and while I am looking forward to having him go to school, I am also feeling sad that he is graduating from being a "little kid" to "school age kid" and is becoming more independent. There were times when he was smaller when I could not wait for him to be more independent, but now a small part of me is having a hard time letting go. It seems as the years go by he is growing up too fast for me. But I am also amazed to see him grow into the boy he is becoming.
