You are amazing, too! My mom also had to get "sweeped" and luckily she has also come to realize that is not what the 3 days were about. How ironic your tentmate was named Kelly. It took me awhile to get there but I am to the point where I am very proud of what I DID accomplish and the awareness and funds it brought to Komen. You are amazing for finishing all three days! I must say I'm a bit jealous :) And, you aren't the Kelly I was supposed to tent with, are you? I only saw her briefly before I bailed to the hotel. Thanks, Kelly! I found your blog while reading Chef's Widow and saw your post about the 3-Day. I also walked this past weekend, and it was one of the hardest things I have ever done. You should not focus on the fact that you didn't walk every mile, but instead on the training and fundraising you did for Susan G. Komen and that you were there at the end! I'm tickled "pink" that you are M's mama because some day she will understand what you put yourself through, even if it wasn't the fully accomplished walk, for you and every woman out there for such a great cause.
